My name is Germany Davis. I am a proud African- American female, 21 yrs of age, and an Alabama resident. I am a senior at Stillman College, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, majoring in History/ Secondary Education. On March 25, 1997, I became a member of the Omega Alpha Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, a leadership and service organization. We help serve our black community and ,also, send donations and can tops to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help kids receive operations that their parents can't afford. ESA was founded on February 11, 1929. It was brought to Stillman College on May 02, 1992. The Omega Alpha Chapter is the first black collegiate chapter and has the largest membership than any other organization on the campus. On October 11, 1997 I became a proud member of the Prince Hall Order of Eastern Star. I am a member of the Josephine Chapter # 830 in Birmingham, AL. The first black chapter of OES was established by Thornton Jackson. On Dec. 01, 1875 Queen Esther Chapter No. 1 was established in Washington D.C. This organization is thought by many who are not members to be a secret organization, but it is not. It is an organization that contains secrets. Our mission on earth is SERVICE. Our work is to proclaim the gospel of our Living God and to prepare the world " TO SEE HIS STAR IN THE EAST."
